Mother's Day (May 11th) Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is an important day for all women. In 1912, West Virginia adopted the official holiday; two years later, the U.S. Congress passed a Joint Resolution, signed by President Wilson, establishing a national Mother's Day emphasizing the role of women in their families. Ever since, Mother's Day has been celebrated by Americans on the second Sunday in May.

Women often neglect themselves when they have kids, because the hustle of everyday life fills up any extra personal time they might have. I've rounded up a few gifts that I think every mother should take the time to enjoy this Mother's Day.

1. Chocolate! Sweeten the day with some treats from Godiva. On a diet? Then try sending a calorie-free Virtual Chocolate, which is a chocolate-themed eCard with a customizable Mother's Day message.
2. An elegant robe or gown to relax in. I really like the Charmeuse Babydoll Sleepwear and Robe. 3. A Swimsuit for a weekend getaway!

4. Flowers never go out of style. Change it up by getting a bonsai tree or bouquet of orchids (my personal favorite) instead of the usual roses or tulips. Let your inner fashionista shine through by buying a Vera Wang Amethyst Orchid Bouquet. This bouquet arrives specially packaged in an exclusive gift box designed by Vera Wang, and the vase is included.
