Burlesque: The Trailer

From IMDB:
The Burlesque Lounge has its best days behind it. Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the venue, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. With the Lounge's troupe members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman's quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether.

Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque. Backed by newfound friends amongst the theater's crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali's big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue. Written by Bobby_John

The film's cast includes:

Cher ('s Cher, come on)
Christina Aguilera (her first starring role!)
Stanley Tucci (Julie & Julia, Maid in Manhattan)
Alan Cumming (The Goodbye Girl, X2)

Chinese Inflatible Lingerie

Well, we guess it's less risky than surgery. Although it's not something you'd want to wear if you're handling porcupines or cactii!

More From Miss Universe: Country Costumes

Some of these are obvious (Great Britain, Japan), some subtle, (USA), and some just don't seem to make any sense. Then again, what does most of the world really know about Kazakhstan; we're pretty sure their contestant wasn't going to show up dressed like Borat!

Racy Miss Universe Contestant Photos

Donald Trump seems to be at a loss for other ways to bring publicity to beauty pageants. That is, except for having the contestants show progressively more skin.

Trump's pageant spokesperson had this to say:

“The contestants who compete at Miss Universe are diverse as they represent more than 82 countries around the globe. Many of their cultures embrace nudity. These photos are a form of artistic expression for each contestant and we respect their desire to pose topless, or not. We feel the images captured are fashionable and cutting edge!”

Lingerie Shopping in Saudi Arabia

Nura, an administrative clerk at Dar al-Hikma Women's College refuses to buy lingerie in Saudi Arabia anymore. "It's really embarrassing. They try to give comments -'this might suit you better than that' - it's really not ethical."

In the fundamentalist Muslim country, you see, fitting rooms are banned and only men are allowed to work at lingerie stores. Consequently, if you're shopping in Saudi Arabia and need information on how a particular item might fit across your chest, you must get it from a man.

In early 2009, an attempt to rectify this problem was made by Reem Asaad, who lectures on finance at the same women's college as Nura. She organized a two week boycott to protest the law. Unfortunately, according to Arab News, the boycott was a failure and did not affect sales.

Our conclusion is that women in Saudi Arabia who want to shop for lingerie with dignity, are simply going outside of the country.

Must-Haves For the Lingerie Drawer

1. A nude bra. Wear it under your white and light-hued clothing. It should be seamless and slightly padded.

2. A black bra. Wear it under darks, for day or night. Don't put them under light colors.

3. A strapless bra. This is essential for evening and under anything with thin straps or a halter neck.

4. A T-back bra. Use it with tank tops and pieces that cut in the shoulders and back. Have nude on hand for white tanks and black for black

5. A convertible bra. It's a sensible purchase that can easily switch from regular to strapless to T-back.

Coffee and Lingerie!

DETROIT, July 31 (UPI) -- Two Michigan coffee cafes have seen sales jump since they started featuring female baristas in skimpy outfits including bikinis and lingerie, observers say.

Brenda and Gary Zelda, owners of the two Detroit-area drive-through Hot Spot Coffee shops, said sales doubled overnight with the change in the baristas' dress Brenda describes as not overtly sexual but "sexy/flirty/fun," The Detroit News reported Saturday.

"It's a unique way to gain attention and awareness from the general public," she said. "It's a fun thing to do."

In addition to the costumes, the shops feature special days including "Topless Tuesdays" and "Flasher Fridays."

Business has been so good, the Zeldas say, they're opening a third location in Brighton Township.

Brighton Township manager Dan Bishop says that's fine with him.

"They've got a marketing gimmick that's a little outrageous," he said. "As long as they are in compliance with the township codes and ordinances, they're legal and free to operate."

There was a complaint about Topless Tuesdays, officials said, but they checked it out -- and found it was just about serving the coffee drinks without lids.
