I love holidays, and St. Patrick's Day is no exception. I started my day by joining thousands of others lining the streets and watching the Kansas City Irish Parade, one of the city's best traditions. The theme this year was "No small potatoes: A tribute to the wee Irish" and the parade participants took it very seriously. Lots of leprechauns, shamrocks and, of course, potatoes. I never knew how many versions of potato costumes (like the two boys marching with the Irish dancers below) there were until yesterday!
After that I wandered down to Westport, where the streets were blocked off and everyone had a green beer. As my friends and I made our way through Westport, I couldn't help but spot several lovely ladies whose outfits and accessories I just had to share.
First there was this woman, who was marching in the parade (a brave feat in those heels)!
But I just love how fun and sexy her shamrock tights and fishnets were! I think I might have to buy a pair of these for next year.
This sexy Leprechaun was one of the few girls in costume yesterday (a shame if you ask me). You can't see it in the photo, but she had shamrocks all over her dress.
And I loved the fun twist these two put on kilts, adding sexy green fishnets boots.
But this girl had what was by far my favorite St. Patrick's Day accessory. I loved her tiny little top hat (reminds me of a few mini hats that Lingerie Diva carries) but the sassy black fishnet is what puts me over the top - so cute! Definitely going to be adding this to my St. Patty's Day outfit for next year!
