Steal Her Style - January Jones in "X-Men: First Class"

If you're familiar with actress January Jones, you likely identify her as ever-suffering housewife Betty Draper on AMC's hit show "Mad Men." This summer she'll debut in a new role, that of mutant villain Emma Frost in "X-men: First Class."

Well, the movie isn't even released yet (it comes out this Friday) but January has already gotten a lot of attention for her part in it - namely for a scene in which she appears in a white lace bra and garter set. (That's her below, dressed "conservatively" for her character, and in the aforementioned lingerie set).

Although Lingerie Diva can't help with the white leather jumpsuit, we can help with the lacy white bra and garter set. For this "Steal Her Style" I recommend this white embroidered bra set by Escante.

You might also like this bustier version, with underwire cups and sheer bodice, also by Escante.

Another option is this white Boudoir Bra & Garter Set, which comes with a fully boned waist corset and garter straps. All 3 sets sell for under $35 and are sure to get you just as much attention as January Jones has received.

And, just for fun since we're talking about an actress with the last name of Jones, here's Billy Paul singing that sexy song "Me and Mrs. Jones."

Hot Lingerie Trend for 2011 - Ruffles

Every new season brings on a new fashion trend and for Spring/Summer 2011 one of the most prevalent trends is ruffles. At Lingerie Diva, we’re seeing everything from ruffled boyshorts to ruffled camisoles to ruffled bikini tops.

The great thing about ruffles is that anyone, from the demure to the fashion forward, can get in on this trend. The more conservative set can choose a piece that has just one ruffle along the neckline. Others on the opposite end of the spectrum can go for entire pieces, like skirts or dresses, made from tiered ruffles.

Here’s a little photo gallery of some of my favorite ruffled lingerie pieces, all available at www.lingeriediva.com.

Lingerie Diva's Best Swimsuits For $30 Or Less

Lucky magazine and MSN.com recently collaborated on an article called "The Season's Best Swimsuits for Under $100." The problem with this article? Of the 10 suits listed, seven sold for more than $70. Three of the suits were in the $92 to $96 range - which to me means that they're essentially $100. Perhaps for some this is a great deal price a swimsuit, but I know for a lot of women this is not in their budget.

The cheapest swimsuit on the list was from Old Navy for $40. Now, that's not a bad deal for a swimsuit, but you can do better! Inspired by the above article, I have come up with my own list: "Lingerie Diva's Best Swimsuits for $30 Or Less."

Note: These are not all of the swimsuits we offer for $30 or less. And there were six suits that were left off this list because they were just over the price limit, selling for $31.49! So you see my point, you don't have to spend $100 to get a great, sexy swimsuit. Heck, at these prices you could afford to buy two or three and have some options for when you go to the beach.

Featured Brand - J. Valentine

J. Valetine is one of the few brands that Lingerie Diva carries that doesn't make lingerie. Instead, they focus on making the sexiest and trendiest clubwear, dancewear and swimsuits they can. And they do a pretty damn good job at it.

Their sultry swimsuits range from more fun and flirty to shiny and sexy to brash and bold. I can definitely see a few of these styles making an appearance at an ultra-lounge pool.

Check out this J. Valentine video that goes behind the scenes or their 2011 swimwear photo shoot! Recognize a few of those swim suits?

J. Valentine is also one of our more popular brands of clubwear. They offers a wide variety of sexy minidresses...

... and some more exotic clubs looks, like these halters sets with fur leg warmers. You'll definitely attract attention in these funky outfits!

And here's another video for you, highlighting pieces from J. Valentine's newest clubwear collections!

So even though they don't make lingerie, J. Valentine definitely does its part to help women feel and look sexy! Visit LingerieDiva.com to see our entire J. Valentine collection!

Lingerie Pieces For Small-Busted Women

Earlier this week I had a customer ask what I recommended for women who were *ahem* not exactly well-endowed. While small-busted women might have to search a little harder to find the perfect fit, there are several lingerie styles that can help enhance, accentuate and show off small busts. Here are my recommendations:

Babydolls: Babydolls are great because they often have lots of details – ruffles, lace, etc. – around the chest area which will make your bust seem fuller. Here’s an example:

With babydolls there are two ways you can go: with underwire or without underwire. Both have their advantages. If you go without underwire, you have to worry less about fit and whether there will be gapping between your chest and the cups. If you go with underwire, you can find some great babydoll styles that have padded cups to give your bust some extra oomph, like this one:

Camisoles: Camisoles are good for small busts because they are usually made of stretchy fabric, which will cling to the curves that you do have. I also suggest going for a halter style – it will draw your breasts up for a bit of cleavage.

Teeny-tiny teddies: There is one advantage small-busted women have over large-busted women: They don’t have to worry about sagging or being well-supported. That means it might be easier for them to wear some of the more exotic teddies out there without having to worry about whether something is hanging out in a bad way. Some examples:

Pasties: Pasties are one lingerie piece that all women – no matter your height, weight or cup size, can pull off. The appeal of pasties is they show so much while still covering the part he really wants to see. Pair them with your favorite pair of underwear and some high heels – accentuating your sexy legs – and you’re set.

Remember, it’s not about hiding your small bust: It’s about accentuating and emphasizing it and – ultimately – showing off what you’ve got!

Barbie - An American Fashion Icon

There are some women who are so fabulously styled that they’ve become fashion icons. Their looks are photographed, discussed and copied at length – everyone wants to know what and who they’re wearing and how they can get the same look. When I think of fashion icons, several names pop into mind. Marilyn Monroe. Elizabeth Taylor. Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Audrey Hepburn. Barbie.

Yes, I said Barbie, as in the plastic doll made by Mattel. Over the decades Barbie has been outfitted by a range of designers that includes Bob Mackie, Christian Louboutin, and Vera Wang, just to name a few. She’s trendy and yet classic at the same time. Her closet – filled with evening gowns, party dresses and pink high heels – is the envy of many.

Today I’ve pulled together a collection of pieces that are “typical” Barbie style – that is, glamorous, very girly (lots of lace and ruffles) and everything in pink.

Check out more of my Barbie-inspired photo album on Flickr. And if you’re based in Kansas City – like Lingerie Diva is – don’t forget to check out the Barbie exhibit at the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City, running through July 4!

The Best & Sexiest Striptease Songs

What’s sexier than some new lingerie? How about putting on some music and doing a little striptease for your lover? Even if you’ve never danced before, doing a striptease is easy. Really, all you need to do is swing your hips and bat your eyelashes a little bit. Remember – he’s not going to judge your technique.

Perhaps the hardest part of a striptease is picking the right song. So many choices! What's going to get you both in the mood? To give you some ideas, I’ve come up with a list of striptease songs that could work no matter what mood you’re in or which musical genre your prefer.

Slow and sultry:
  • “Fever” – artists include Peggy Lee, Elvis, Ella Fitzgerald and Michael Buble
  • “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles
  • “Justify My Love” by Madonna
Classic Rock:
  • “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard
  • “Cherry Pie” by Warrant
Hip Hop:
  • “Hot in Here” by Nelly
  • “Slow Motion” by Juvenile
Fast paced & in your face:
  • “Dirrty” by Christina Aguilera
  • "Tonight (I'm Loving You) by Enrique Iglesias
  • “Doin’ It” by LL Cool J
  • “Pony” by Ginuwine
  • “Red Light Special” by TLC
  • “I’m a Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears
  • “Dontcha” by the Pussycat Dolls
Fun and kind of silly:
  • “I Touch Myself” by DiVinyls
  • “Strokin’” by Clarence Carter
  • “You Can Leave Your Hat On” by Joe Cocker

Now, this is in no means a comprehensive list. There are a million other songs you could go with. But hopefully it will help inspire you when you are planning your next “private show”. Are there any other striptease songs you’d put on the list?

PS: If you need a few pointers perfecting your striptease routine moves, check out this article here.

Black & White & Sexy All Over

I know the color combination of black and white is a traditional (and, perhaps to some of you, boring) one but I love it. It's crisp and classic and there's just something about the way black lace looks against white satin - and visa versa - that makes me melt.

I've put together a little gallery of some of Lingerie Diva's hottest black and white pieces. What's black and white and sexy all over? These are.

While I love bright, colorful lingerie piece, these pictures definitely proof that you don't need a rainbow of color to be sexy.
